About Meanwhile Creative

The world of small business is changing. There are more people than ever starting their own enterprises or going freelance and these folk need work space and desk space that is low-cost and flexible. That’s why we offer our offices and studios in Bristol and Cardiff from as little as £100/month and on rolling monthly contracts, not a three-year term in sight.

Meanwhile Creative was founded in 2012 with the goal of turning dormant office buildings into thriving work hubs for Bristol’s small businesses and creatives. Company founder Fred kicked things off by taking over two floors of a derelict police station right in the heart of the city and naming it Bridewell Space. When the quirky project quickly filled up with ambitious young people, it became clear that the demand was huge.

More projects followed as we launched the rental of office space in Bridge House and 36 King Street and moved the Bridewell Space tenants over to Pithay Studios. In 2015 we then added Deben House and Lincoln Street Warehouse to the portfolio.

2016-17 saw our biggest growth to date as we doubled our available space, adding St Thomas Studios, Freestone Studios and Kingsland Studios to our Bristol portfolio. We also launched our first building outside of Bristol, Meanwhile House Cardiff, housing over sixty new studios.

All in all we now offer affordable, flexible studio and office space for around 300 tenants, from fashion brands, music producers, illustrators and costumiers, to bicycle builders, dance studios, personal trainers, web developers and many more.

We’ve got ambitious plans for 2018 as we actively look to secure new buildings to support new businesses and creatives in the South West. To be kept up to speed, sign up to our mailing list below or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
