Here at Meanwhile Creative, we know that the world of small business is changing. There are more people than ever starting their own enterprises or going freelance and these folks need work space and desk space in Bristol that is low-cost and flexible. That’s why we offer our offices and studios from as little as £100/month and on rolling monthly contracts, not a three-year term in sight!
The company was founded in 2012 with the goal of turning dormant office buildings into thriving work hubs for Bristol’s small businesses and creatives.Company founder Fred kicked things off by taking over two floors of a derelict police station right in the heart of the city and naming it Bridewell Space. When the quirky project quickly filled up with ambitious young people, it became clear that the demand was huge.
More projects followed as we launched the rental of office space in Bristol at Bridge House and 36 King Street and moved the Bridewell Space tenants over to Pithay Studios. In 2015 we added Deben House and Lincoln Street Warehouse to the portfolio, now totalling 45 000 square feet. Around 200 tenants currently make use of the facilities including fashion brands, music producers, illustrators, costumiers, bicycle builders, graphic designers, web developers and allsorts besides.
2016 is set to be the biggest year for Meanwhile Creative so far with the aim of doubling the current amount of space. Meanwhile House Cardiff will be the first offering outside of Bristol with over sixty new studios on offer. Meanwhile House Bristol is due to open towards the end of the year, but we’re keeping the details of that under wraps for now! Fred, Sian, Meggie, Mona and Jack look forward to hearing from you soon!
